Erica Young, Lead Teacher, Studio Owner

Erica is a third generation Classical Pilates teacher. She is passionate about the method and its ability to transform bodies and minds. Erica teaches professional athletes, mountain enthusiasts and inquisitive movers of all ages and abilities to unlock their potential in and out of the studio.

Erica is a lifelong mover, studying dance from age three. She started teaching movement at age 13 and has never stopped. She holds a Master’s Degree in Science Education and was an elementary school teacher for a decade.

Starting her Pilates journey as a student in 2010, she earned her Comprehensive Teacher Certification with Annette Petit in Telluride. She completed the Heritage Program with Cara Reeser, a post graduate program examining the work of Kathy Stanford Grant. She also completed the Classical Progressions Masters Program with Karen Frischmann, a rigorous advanced training syllabus for Pilates professionals, which examines the work of Mr. Pilates and influences of Jay Grimes and Romana Kryzanowska on the modern classical system. Erica combines her knowledge to support her students’ learning and independence.

Erica established Ridgway Pilates in 2017 and has been offering instruction to the community ever since. In her free time she loves to hike, ski, ride horses, garden, play with her Korat cats, Gus and Penny, but most of all, to dance.

Amelia Stecher, Apprentice Teacher

Amelia has been an enthusiastic athlete all of her life. Due to her love for adventure and competition, she has found herself needing to pursue more mindful outlets for exercise to keep her body healthy. While Amelia has a background in Yoga studies, she is pursuing the Pilates teacher training because she recognizes the importance of strengthening and mobilizing the body as a complete system. She is very excited to share this amazing resource with the community to help others build upon their strength, mobility, flexibility, and confidence.
