Erica Young, Studio Owner, Lead Teacher

Erica is passionate about Pilates and its ability to transform bodies and minds. She harnesses the power of traditional Pilates to develop personalized programs that get results.

Erica is a lifelong mover, studying dance from age three, and started teaching movement at age 13. She holds a Master’s Degree in Education and was an elementary school teacher for a decade while studying modern dance, contact improvisation and various yogic disciplines.

Erica started practicing Pilates in 2010. She completed her Comprehensive Teacher Certification with Annette Petit in Telluride and the Heritage Post Graduate Program with Cara Reeser, examining the work of Pilates pioneer Kathy Stanford Grant. Currently, she’s studying the Classical Progressions Masters Program with Karen Frischmann, a 15-month advanced training syllabus for Pilates professionals, which examines the work of Jay Grimes and Romana Kryzanowska within the context of Mr. Pilates’ original system.

Erica teaches pro athletes, mountain enthusiasts and inquisitive movers of all ages and abilities to unlock their potential in and out of the studio.

In her free time she loves to hike, ski, ride horses, garden, but most of all, to dance.

Erica teaches Monday-Friday.

Alexis Tucker, Teacher

Alex is drawn to the intelligence of the Pilates System. She understands how the focused awareness of the mind and body connection develops and enhances our ability to strengthen and heal.

Alex came to Pilates over 25 years ago. Certified in Santa Fe, New Mexico, studying with Ray Kurshals, she taught Pilates at “Santa Fe Pilates” and the studio of Silvia Stenitzer.

Alex has enjoyed a lifetime of physical activity: off-shore sailing, skiing, rafting, horseback riding, running, hiking and cycling. She discovered that Pilates more than any other form of exercise, promotes energy, mobility and strength.

She loves sharing this with others looking to do the same.

Alex teaches on Mondays..

Jennifer Anglin, Teacher

Jennifer has been practicing Pilates for 25 years and still finds plenty of challenge and enjoyment in discovering new ways of working her body and engaging her mind.

A transplant to Ridgway from Chicago, Jennifer’s comprehensive training was through Core Dynamics and master teacher Michele Larsson. She studied with both classical and contemporary teachers in Chicago before opening her own studio in 2009. In the interest of keeping herself and others moving for years to come, she is delving into Somatics and the Melt method, as well as deepening her Pilates practice.

In her free time Jennifer enjoys the noisy quiet of nature around her off-grid cabin, walking wild roads and trails with her dog and the neighbor wolf, gardening, painting,  writing, snowshoeing, and spending as much time outside as possible.

Jennifer teaches on Thursdays.
